"Dare Dare", Quick Analysis of a Work of Art:
National stud farms always have a special atmosphere. The places are often full of history. I have visited several stud farms and each time, I am amazed by the old walls, the smells and the atmosphere. Suppressed in 1790 during the revolution, the stud farms were re-established under Napoleon I in 1806.
In my youth, I visited the Haras du Pin in Normandy. The place was majestic. In the middle of the straw, the walls and the old racks, the big stable was home to a heavy breed of horses: the Percheron. It is in this particular atmosphere that I represented the round and dappled rumps of these work horses. This is one of my first acrylic paintings.
It was one of the five paintings that allowed me to become a member of the very prestigious Society of Animal Artists in the USA.
